Wow, can’t believe that March is almost here already. Time is just flying by these days.
I have been working very hard in the background and have been doing some heavy networking with friends. I was having a conversation with my good friend Brett Phillips and decided we were going to put together a surf promotion for the rest of this week. I was pretty excited about it and then he added some even better news. Paula Zuehlke had decided to join us for the promotion. New feature update. I had put the new splash pages on the back burner and decided against Hover Surf. So I searched and thought and have come up with a new prize page that I believe will make surfing at HP a little more fun. Here is a preview of what the new prize page looks like.

This scratch game will show up every 15 pages surfed. Sometimes you’ll win, sometimes you’ll lose. There will be credits, impressions and cash up for grabs, so you’ll never know what you’re going to win. I have been testing it and it works great. Just have to work out some small details and get all the prizes added and it will be ready for you to play

If you liked the old prize page, don’t worry. I will still be adding prizes to it and it will still show up randomly from time to time.

Well, it’s been a little while since our last update. I am going to be putting all future updates on the blog. This way there will be an archive for you to look through in case you ever miss an email.

Today is a very GREAT day for me personally and also for all members of Hitpirate. For those of you that don’t know I was promoted to General Manager of the restaurant I work at about 4 months ago. I have been with this company for 13 years and have never been challenged as much as I have been in the last 4 months. Well, today on a conference call my store got kudos for the improvements made in the last 4 months. Props are hardly ever given in this company, that’s why I am so thrilled.

Anyway, now as to why this is such a great day for all Hitpirate members.  You know how traffic exchanges are a great way to build your list. We now have 7873 members, that means that 60 new members were referred since our mailing last week. Keep up the great work folks.  We will be hitting the 8000 member mark in no time.  To make it more exciting. Whoever refers member 8000 I will be adding 8000 credits, 8000 banner impressions and 8000 text link impressions to their account.

I have officially pulled the 100 credit per referral offer. I hope you all enjoyed it and earned some free traffic :)  I did make a change to the earnings from your referrals surfing efforts.  You will now receive 10% of the credits that your 1st level referrals gain from surfing.  This will help with residual traffic.  In other words, if a person you’ve referred surfs 100 sites, you will earn 10 credits.  Another great reason to continue to refer people to our system.

I have also added a new login page to the system for those that haven’t noticed. I will be treating this as an offer of the week page.  Each week I will provide you with a discounted offer on either credits, upgraded memberships and sometimes some products that I have found to be of use.  So, make sure you log in every week to see what we’re offering

I have also done a major overhaul of the pricing of our advertising. I have slashed all of our prices and made a few tweaks to the upgrade packages.  There has never been a better time to pick up some advertising on our site.  Our prices are at an all time low!

First off our member count is up to 7813  That’s 56 new members in the last week so we are still growing at a steady pace.  We are currently averaging 94 page views per URL which is also a very good rate!  Thank you all for your activity and hard work in helping us grow and improve.

Have you seen all the exchanges switching over to the dynamic surf ratios?  I have to laugh as I had a programmer create this mod quite a while back and he’s now selling it to anyone.  So yes, HP is one of the first exchanges with the dynamic surf ratio.  While the others figure out how to optimize it, we’ve been there and done that.

I am still giving away 100 credits per verified referral you bring in.  This will stay up until July 9th, on that day I will take it down and change over to where you earn 10% of the credits your 1st level referrals surf for.  So, if they surf for 100 credits, you will receive 10 credits from their surfing efforts.

Things are clicking right along at Hitpirate.  Membership is continuing to grow steadily and activity is continuing to rise as well.  I am back into sending a weekly newsletter now that Little League is almost over and will be doing some heavy promoting of HP over the next couple of months.

In my newsletters I am going to be including some short tutorial articles that will hopefully benefit your efforts in traffic exchanges.  Here is this weeks article. I hope you enjoy it.

This week I would like to talk about branding yourself.  A good friend of mine Jon Olson has been preaching this for several years now. Every day I log into the admin area and approve websites that are submitted to our exchange.  Lately I have been noticing that alot of the new members are still promoting affiliate pages.  There are several problems with doing this “No tracking of results” “No originality” “No Shock and Awe” “Page has been seen 1,000,000 times before” “At best a 1 time sale”  all of which will lead to minimal results and success online.  I for one would like to see you all thrive online and in traffic exchanges.  But in order to do this, you must go about it the right way.

You have to brand yourself first.  Build a great splash/lead capture page and put your picture and name on there.  Build the personal recognition, it is a great way to build trust with your potential customers. If you can’t build one, have one built for you.  There are several designers out there that can create affordable pages for you.  There are also services out there that you can use to build your pages Instant Squeeze Page Generator is a great service that is free and will allow you to build your pages and host them if you don’t have a site.  It takes little to no HTML knowledge to build the pages and they even provide you with products to give away to help build your list.

Once you have built your page branding yourself, put out a weekly newsletter on something you are knowledgeable about or have passion for and make it a sales letter for your affiliate program.  You will have much better results if you approach things this way than if you go for front end sales.  Plus, if you have them on your list, you can go for sales time and time again instead of just once

Been a while since my last update.  I try to keep it only to when there is a real quality update and or a service that I feel will be of real value to you.  I’m going to start posting to our news/update blog more often though.  I want to make sure that you are getting the most out of you’re experience at Hitpirate.

I must be out of my mind If quality traffic, splash points, dynamic surfing ratio, treasure surf hours and other bonus credits weren’t enough of a reason for you to surf Hitpirate regularly. Then maybe this will I have added a new mod to the exchange where randomly between 50 and 80 pages surfed by all members a prize page will be shown in the window. I know, I know, it’s been quite a while since my last update. Trust me, I am working very hard in the background to continue to improve Hitpirate for you.

Some of you may have noticed that we have a new site design I hired Sean Lowery of Traffic Exchange Design to create a new look for me. He did an absolutely amazing job I think. I strongly recommend him to any TE owner.

I made a change to the surfbar as well at HP. It now displays the pages you’ve viewed in a day. Then it also displays the credits you’ve earned in a day also. Nothing major, but I think it is more relevant than seeing the percent of credits you have auto assigned

Activity is at an all time high and we should be reaching our 7000th member tomorrow. Let’s all keep pushing as I expect we will reach the 10000 member mark by the end of the year at the rate we are growing.
